What the stamp says

The window of the card holds a bar with all the marks of the house. We read them on the photograph.

Bar in a card

A card one millimetre thick

According to the house, the card is the size of a credit card: 85.6 by 54 millimetres, one millimetre thick.

The house calls it Secain Card. Its front shows the figure of the caster as a statue on a heap of granules; the window holds the same 1 g bar as the UnityBox.

Heimerle + Meule

A house from Pforzheim

Recovering and refining precious metal has been at the heart of the house since its founding. Today it recovers gold and silver from jewellery, coins, dental gold alloys, silverware and silver-plated cutlery, as well as from industrial residues.

Chronicle

The chronicle of the house

  1. 1845

  2. 1945

In the war the company building is destroyed, according to the house on 23 February. The house finds new premises at the jewellery and watch factory Knoll + Pregitzer.

  3. 1977

The house leaves the town centre and moves into premises in the Brötzinger Tal industrial area.

  4. 2010

The house introduces its investment products division.

  5. 2014

LBMA

What the London list means

The LBMA’s Good Delivery List names the refiners whose bars may be delivered into the London market.

It refers to large bars: for gold between 350 and 430 fine ounces, about 10.9 to 13.4 kilograms. Smaller bars do not count in London wholesale trading, so a bar of 1 g is not a Good Delivery bar.

The print “LBMA Good Delivery Refiner” on the packaging therefore refers to the house, not to the individual bar.

The 1g gold bar in the Secain Card combines the finest investment gold with German craftsmanship. It is produced by Heimerle + Meule, Germany's oldest gold and silver refinery. The traditional company was founded in Pforzheim in 1845 and is today one of the most renowned names in the European precious metals industry. Those who buy here acquire minted fine gold from a house that has stood for precision and purity for almost two centuries.

The bar in detail

The rectangular bar with its characteristic rounded corners consists of one gram of fine gold with a purity of 999.9. It is embossed with the Heimerle + Meule lettering, the designation FINE GOLD 999.9, the unmistakable company logo featuring the gold caster, and the year 1845. Below that are the weight "1g" and the note "melter assayer". The certificate on the card documents authenticity and facilitates resale.

The Secain Card as packaging

The bar is securely embedded in a credit-card-sized blister card. The black-and-gold card displays the artistic relief of the gold caster on the front – the trademark of Heimerle + Meule. On the back you will find the manufacturer's name, the signature of managing director Georg Steiner, and the seal as an LBMA Good Delivery Refiner. The certificate of authenticity integrated into the card, along with the certificate number, confirms the fineness and origin. Thanks to the robust, sealed card, the bar can be safely stored and discreetly transported – it fits comfortably in a wallet.

Why physical gold?

The value of this bar is primarily determined by the fine gold it contains and moves in line with the gold price. Gold is the world's oldest currency and has been a proven store of value for over 6,000 years – an asset that has never fallen to zero, because it possesses an intrinsic, globally recognized value. As an inflation hedge, physical gold preserves purchasing power when paper money loses trust. It is no coincidence that the world's central banks hold vast gold reserves. Gold is also highly liquid and can be converted back into cash at any time.

Small amounts of gold add up over the years to a considerable fortune – an entry into physical gold investment that can succeed with just one gram.

Ideal for getting started and as a gift

The small denomination makes this bar an ideal entry point into the world of precious metals. While larger units offer a lower premium per gram, the 1-gram bar scores with maximum flexibility: it can be accumulated in fine increments and sold off piece by piece. It also makes a perfect gift for occasions such as baptisms, births, or weddings – giving fully-fledged investment gold, a genuine asset rather than a mere decorative item. Another advantage: profits from the sale of gold are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year.
