What the stamp says

The window of the card holds a bar with all the marks of the house. We read them on the photograph.

Bar in a card

A card one millimetre thick

According to the house, the card is the size of a credit card: 85.6 by 54 millimetres, one millimetre thick.

The house calls it FineCard: a bar of 999.9 fine gold is set into the card. It holds the same 1 g bar as the UnityBox.

The house intends the FineCard as a gift for “matters of the heart”. Its motif shows the occasion.

Heimerle + Meule

A house from Pforzheim

Recovering and refining precious metal has been at the heart of the house since its founding. Today it recovers gold and silver from jewellery, coins, dental gold alloys, silverware and silver-plated cutlery, as well as from industrial residues.

Chronicle

The chronicle of the house

  1. 1845

Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, in Pforzheim to recover precious metal from production waste on behalf of his customers.

  2. 1945

In the war the company building is destroyed, according to the house on 23 February. The house finds new premises at the jewellery and watch factory Knoll + Pregitzer.

  3. 1977

The house leaves the town centre and moves into premises in the Brötzinger Tal industrial area.

  4. 2010

The house introduces its investment products division.

  5. 2014

On 3 June the LBMA, the association of the London precious metals market, admits Heimerle + Meule to its Good Delivery List for gold, the register of accredited refiners.

LBMA

What the London list means

The LBMA’s Good Delivery List names the refiners whose bars may be delivered into the London market.

It refers to large bars: for gold between 350 and 430 fine ounces, about 10.9 to 13.4 kilograms. Smaller bars do not count in London wholesale trading, so a bar of 1 g is not a Good Delivery bar.

The print “LBMA Good Delivery Refiner” on the packaging therefore refers to the house, not to the individual bar.

1g Gold Bar Heimerle und Meule Nest Egg FineCard – genuine investment gold in credit card format

A bar of pure fine gold, embedded in a handy card with a charming nest-egg design: This 1g gold bar from Heimerle und Meule combines a personal touch with what really matters – a solid gram of 999.9 fine gold, whose value is based on the world market price.

  • Investment goal: With a small bar, you protect your wealth extremely effectively against the gradual erosion of currency value.
  • Value preservation: The fine gold bar serves as a reliable store of value, preserving the real substance of your wealth and increasing it over the years.
  • Hedging: Especially in times of inflation, recession and high government debt, you secure your savings with physical precious metal.
  • Crisis protection: Small bars in particular are excellent as a means of payment and exchange in times of crisis – a building block for your crisis protection.

One gram of fine gold – substance is what counts

The bar weighs exactly 1 gram and is made of 999.9 fine gold. It is minted, Brilliant Uncirculated and bears on the front everything that makes a serious bar: the name and logo of Heimerle + Meule, the inscription "FINE GOLD 999.9", the founding year 1845, and the weight specification "1g". As small as the format may be, the core of the matter is just as significant – here you are not acquiring a mere pendant or souvenir, but recognized, globally tradable gold.

The FineCard comes in the practical credit card format of 85.6 x 54 x 1 mm, making it easy to fit in your wallet. In the foreground, the word "Notgroschen" (nest egg) is displayed in blue script, with a hand throwing a coin into a cheerful piggy bank behind it, flanked by stacked coins. The design tells the story of building up reserves – but the actual reserve you hold in your hands is real fine gold.

Heimerle + Meule – tradition from the gold city of Pforzheim

Behind the bar stands a name with weight. Heimerle + Meule was founded in 1845 in Pforzheim and is one of the oldest German gold and silver refineries. The company is recognized by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) as a "Good Delivery" refinery – an international quality standard that guarantees authenticity and purity and ensures that the minted gold bar remains easily tradable worldwide. An enclosed certificate of authenticity rounds out the package.

Why gold – and why in small steps

Gold is humanity's oldest currency and has outlasted every paper currency for over 6,000 years. It has an inherent, physical value, has never had a value of zero, and protects against the loss of purchasing power. While central banks can increase fiat money almost without limit, the supply of gold is naturally scarce – and this is exactly where its strength as an inflation hedge lies. It is no coincidence that the world's central banks hoard vast gold reserves.

The 1-gram bar is the ideal starting point: you can save fine gold step by step, and many small amounts add up over the years to a considerable fortune. Thanks to its high liquidity, gold can be converted back into cash at any time. Another advantage: investment gold is VAT-free in Germany, and profits from the sale are generally tax-free after a minimum holding period of one year.

Despite the personal nest-egg design, what you are acquiring here is full-fledged investment gold – minted fine gold whose value is based on the gold price.

Whether as a foundation for building your own wealth or as a gift for a birth, christening or birthday that is not just a fleeting trinket but a genuine gold investment: with the 1g gold bar Nest Egg from Heimerle und Meule, you are choosing permanence. Gold has shone for thousands of years – and will not lose its shine in the future either. This way, you secure values that can be passed down through generations.
