What the stamp says

The window of the card holds a bar with all the marks of the house. We read them on the photograph.

Bar in a card

A card one millimetre thick

According to the house, the card is the size of a credit card: 85.6 by 54 millimetres, one millimetre thick.

The house calls it FineCard: a bar of 999.9 fine gold is set into the card. It holds the same 1 g bar as the UnityBox.

The house intends the FineCard as a gift for “matters of the heart”. Its motif shows the occasion.

Heimerle + Meule

A house from Pforzheim

Recovering and refining precious metal has been at the heart of the house since its founding. Today it recovers gold and silver from jewellery, coins, dental gold alloys, silverware and silver-plated cutlery, as well as from industrial residues.

Chronicle

The chronicle of the house

  1. 1845

Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, in Pforzheim to recover precious metal from production waste on behalf of his customers.

  2. 1945

In the war the company building is destroyed, according to the house on 23 February. The house finds new premises at the jewellery and watch factory Knoll + Pregitzer.

  3. 1977

The house leaves the town centre and moves into premises in the Brötzinger Tal industrial area.

  4. 2010

The house introduces its investment products division.

  5. 2014

On 3 June the LBMA, the association of the London precious metals market, admits Heimerle + Meule to its Good Delivery List for gold, the register of accredited refiners.

LBMA

What the London list means

The LBMA’s Good Delivery List names the refiners whose bars may be delivered into the London market.

It refers to large bars: for gold between 350 and 430 fine ounces, about 10.9 to 13.4 kilograms. Smaller bars do not count in London wholesale trading, so a bar of 1 g is not a Good Delivery bar.

The print “LBMA Good Delivery Refiner” on the packaging therefore refers to the house, not to the individual bar.

1g Gold Bar Heimerle + Meule Valentine's Day FineCard – genuine investment gold with a personal touch

  • Investment goal: With gold bars, you protect your wealth exceptionally effectively against the creeping devaluation of money.
  • Value preservation: A gold bar is a reliable store of value that preserves the real substance of your wealth and strengthens it over the years.
  • Protection: Especially amid rising inflation, economic setbacks, and mounting government debt, you can safeguard your capital with gold.
  • Crisis protection: Small bars can serve excellently as a means of payment and exchange in turbulent times.

The 1g gold bar from Heimerle + Meule combines two things that rarely come together so elegantly: a lovingly designed Valentine's Day FineCard and one gram of pure, minted fine gold. The romantic design provides the personal touch. The actual substance – and the reason for the purchase – is the contained fine gold, whose value is directly tied to the gold price. Whoever chooses this is not acquiring a fleeting gift, but a physical asset that can be held onto.

The FineCard, in a handy credit-card format, features dark red, fresh roses, two glittering hearts, and a package wrapped in white paper with a red bow – arranged on light wood in a charming vintage look. On the right, in elegant red script, reads the greeting "Happy Valentine's Day!". The minted bar is securely embedded in the card. Its obverse displays the lettering HEIMERLE + MEULE, the designation FINE GOLD 999.9, the traditional company emblem with the year 1845, as well as the weight indication 1g along with the melter/assayer hallmark.

Manufacturer with history: Heimerle + Meule

The manufacturer is Heimerle + Meule from Pforzheim, Germany's oldest gold and silver refinery, with roots dating back to 1845. The minted bar consists of 999.9/1,000 fine gold and bears the LBMA (London Bullion Market Association) quality seal in Good Delivery standard – a certificate of authenticity is included with every piece. A 1 gram gold bar from this house thus stands for the highest purity, clean minting, and verified origin "Made in Germany". In addition, Heimerle + Meule grants a buy-back guarantee on its own bars, which further facilitates future tradability.

Despite the personal occasion, what you are acquiring here is full-fledged investment gold. Anyone who gives a genuine gold investment for Valentine's Day is not handing their loved one a fleeting greeting, but a lasting piece of substance. As an inflation hedge, gold preserves purchasing power over time, while paper money continuously loses value through the central banks' money printing. Small denominations in particular are well suited for building wealth in tangible assets step by step and without a large capital outlay.

Why gold has convinced for millennia

Gold is the oldest currency in the world and has served as a proven store of value for over 6,000 years. It has an inherent, intrinsic value, has never had a value of zero throughout its history, and is recognized worldwide as a means of payment and exchange. Its supply is scarce and limited, which supports long-term value stability – it is not without reason that central banks themselves hold enormous gold reserves. Physical gold can also be converted back into cash at any time with high liquidity and is excellently suited for passing on wealth across generations. Another advantage: profits from the sale of physical gold are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year.

Compared to larger bars, the 1 gram unit scores with its fine divisibility: one can purchase small amounts specifically or later sell them individually, without having to move a large value at once. This is exactly what makes this FineCard the ideal entry point into physical gold investment – tangible, value-stable, and with a touch of warmth.
