MALTA CoinBars

A bar with a face value

According to Heimerle + Meule, the CoinBars are issued under licence from the Central Bank of Malta. The face value is the amount that stands as a number on the bar.

The carton names Heimerle + Meule and “Part of HM Precious Metals” and bears the mark of the Royal Dutch Mint: these are the details on the packaging.

100 x 1g Malta Minted Bar UnityBox by Heimerle + Meule

One hundred individual gram bars, a well-thought-out box, one clear goal: tangible security for turbulent times. These are the arguments in favour of the Malta CoinBars from Heimerle + Meule:

  • Crisis protection: Especially the smallest minted bars are excellently suited as a means of payment and exchange when the usual financial system falters.
  • Investment goal: With these minted bars, you effectively arm your wealth against upcoming crises and the gradual devaluation of money.
  • Preservation of value: Each bar is a compact store of value that preserves and secures the real equivalent value of your savings across generations.
  • Hedging: In phases of inflation, recession and runaway government debt, a tangible asset of this kind forms a solid foundation.
  • Inflation hedge: While paper currencies lose purchasing power, the precious metal retains its intrinsic value.

A minted bar – the best of both coin and bar

A minted bar is a rectangular bar bearing a coin die that at first glance looks like a classic bar. Thanks to the face value of 3 Euro stamped onto it, each piece attains the status of a genuine coin in its country of issue, Malta, and is recognised there as official legal tender. In this way, the CoinBar concept combines the minting quality of a coin with the substance of pure gold: each bar consists of fine gold with a fineness of 999.9/1,000, and the total fine weight of the box amounts to 100 grams. In doing so, the manufacturer enriches the classic gold bar with a component that is both charming and practical.

The Malta CoinBars were developed in cooperation with the Central Bank of Malta, licensed via the Royal Dutch Mint, and manufactured by Heimerle + Meule. The design is inspired by the Maltese capital Valletta and stands for permanence and preservation of value. The individual bars of the UnityBox are neatly encapsulated and are delivered as brand-new, Brilliant Uncirculated items complete with a certificate of authenticity.

Heimerle + Meule – tradition from Baden-Württemberg

Behind this product stands a name of weight: Heimerle + Meule was founded in 1845 in the gold city of Pforzheim and is Germany's oldest gold and silver refinery – one of the most tradition-steeped addresses in the world for the processing of precious metals. Anyone purchasing a bar from Baden-Württemberg receives quality from an LBMA-certified manufacturer with over 180 years of experience. This provenance builds trust – a factor that carries considerable weight, especially when it comes to security.

Why small denominations are compelling in times of crisis

The great appeal of this UnityBox lies in its small denominations. One hundred bars of 1 gram each can be taken out, given away or exchanged individually, without you having to part with a large sum of value all at once. Such small units in gold and silver – whether as a 1-gram gold bar or as supplementary silver coins – are popular products for various emergency situations, whether at home or far abroad. They can easily be carried in a wallet while travelling without attracting attention, thus offering a high degree of security and flexibility.

Those who prefer individual pieces will find the ideal starting point with the 1g gold bar, while the somewhat larger 10g gold bar bundles more fine weight per piece. Compared to the gold CombiBar, also known as Combibar or Combibarren, in which the gram segments are broken out of a connected sheet, the minted bars of the UnityBox are available as fully independent, separate pieces. This is a practical advantage when it comes to easy divisibility and the complete traceability of each individual bar.

Gold as a timeless store of value

Gold is the oldest currency in the world and a proven store of value for over 6,000 years. Even in ancient Egypt it served as a unit of measurement for trade, on the Silk Road it facilitated the exchange of goods, and throughout much of the 19th and 20th centuries the gold standard tied entire currencies to the precious metal. Gold has never had a value of zero, possesses intrinsic value, and protects against the loss of purchasing power. Physical gold is tradable worldwide, highly liquid, and can be converted into cash at any time. It is not without reason that the central banks of the world hold enormous gold reserves – a clear sign that they place only limited trust in uncovered fiat money. Added to this is a tax advantage: investment gold is exempt from VAT in Germany, and profits from its sale are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year.

Gold has been shining for thousands of years – and will never lose its shine. With the Malta UnityBox, you secure this lasting value in convenient units that can be divided at any time.
