The window of the card holds a bar with all the marks of the house. We read them on the photograph.

According to the house, the card is the size of a credit card: 85.6 by 54 millimetres, one millimetre thick.

The house calls it Secain Card. Its front shows the figure of the caster as a statue on a heap of granules; the window holds a bar of 0.5 g.

Heimerle + Meule

A house from Pforzheim

Recovering and refining precious metal has been at the heart of the house since its founding. Today it recovers gold and silver from jewellery, coins, dental gold alloys, silverware and silver-plated cutlery, as well as from industrial residues.

Chronicle

  5. 2014

On 3 June the LBMA, the association of the London precious metals market, admits Heimerle + Meule to its Good Delivery List for gold, the register of accredited refiners.

LBMA

What the London list means

The LBMA’s Good Delivery List names the refiners whose bars may be delivered into the London market.

It refers to large bars: for gold between 350 and 430 fine ounces, about 10.9 to 13.4 kilograms. Smaller bars do not count in London wholesale trading, so a bar of 0.5 g is not a Good Delivery bar.

The print “LBMA Good Delivery Refiner” on the packaging therefore refers to the house, not to the individual bar.

0.5 g Gold Bar Heimerle + Meule Secain Card – Investment Gold in Credit Card Format

  • Investment goal: With a gold bar, you protect your wealth exceptionally effectively against creeping currency devaluation.
  • Value preservation: This compact bar acts as a proven store of value, preserving the real purchasing power of your assets and strengthening it step by step.
  • Protection: Especially during periods of inflation, recession, and rampant government debt, you can stabilize your reserves with gold.

The finest precious metal in a practical card format: The Secain® Card by the Heimerle + Meule Group combines a minted 0.5-gram gold bar made of 999.9 fine gold with an elegant, black-toned blister card. The bar bears the inscription "FINE GOLD 999.9", the weight "0.5 g", and the mint mark with the year 1845, and is firmly integrated into the card. The front shows, in warm gold tones, the figure of a worker atop a mountain of fine gold granules – a symbol of the refinery's craftsmanship. As small as this piece is: the substance and the actual reason to buy is the fine gold it contains.

Heimerle + Meule – German refinery with tradition since 1845

Behind the Secain® Card stands one of the most renowned names in the industry. Heimerle + Meule, based in Pforzheim, is one of the oldest gold and silver refineries in Germany, with a history dating back to 1845. The company is listed as an "LBMA Good Delivery Refiner" – an internationally recognized seal of quality for the highest purity and verified standards. The back of the card also references the quality management system certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001. Each card is delivered as brand-new, Brilliant Uncirculated merchandise with a certificate of authenticity. "Made in Germany" is not just a marketing promise here, but lived craftsmanship history.

Small denomination, big purpose: the entry point into physical gold investment

The 0.5-gram bar is the ideal starter size for investing in real gold with a manageable amount of capital. Those who regularly purchase small amounts build up a considerable precious metal fortune piece by piece over the years. The value of this bar is primarily based on the fine gold it contains and moves in line with the gold price – this fundamentally distinguishes it from a mere gift item. Despite the decorative card design, what you are acquiring here is fully-fledged investment gold: minted fine gold, whose substance is recognized worldwide and can be traded at any time.

Gold is humanity's oldest currency – it has never been worth zero and has outlasted every paper currency.

Why gold is convincing as protection against inflation and crises

Gold has an intrinsic, physical value and is a scarce commodity with limited supply. While central banks can increase fiat money almost at will, gold cannot be printed – a key reason for its long-term value stability. As a proven inflation hedge, this precious metal preserves your purchasing power when paper currencies lose value. At the same time, it serves as a reliable crisis protection in politically and economically uncertain times. It is no coincidence that central banks are among the largest gold holders in the world.

  • Globally liquid: Fine gold is recognized around the globe as a means of payment and exchange and can be easily sold on.
  • Durable: Gold does not corrode and retains its shine as well as its physical properties over millennia.
  • Generational value: Physical gold is suitable for long-term wealth preservation and can be passed down through generations.
  • Tax advantage: Investment gold is exempt from VAT in Germany; profits from its sale are generally tax-free if held for at least one year.

Give a genuine gold investment as a gift

Whether for a birth, christening, wedding, or as a way to mark a new year of life: with the Secain® Card, you are not giving a fleeting token of attention, but a lasting asset. The personal touch comes from the appealing card design – the substance comes from the fine gold. This way, a good occasion becomes the starting point for physical gold investment.

The Secain Card compared to other small bars

Compared to loosely delivered small bars, the Secain® Card scores points with its protected, tamper-proof blister packaging including an integrated proof of authenticity – this makes storage and later resale easier. Those looking for a larger amount of fine gold at a lower premium should opt for 1 g or 5 g bars; those wishing to start with a minimal investment or to give a gold investment as a gift are perfectly served by the 0.5 g format. You can conveniently purchase this minted gold bar from Heimerle + Meule online at Kettner Edelmetalle – as brand-new merchandise straight from German manufacturing.
