ShareDie Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) brachte mit dem Polarbär Silber Kanada im Jahr 2013 eine neue Bullion-Silbermünze auf den Markt. Als zweites Motiv folgte nun im Februar 2014 die 1,5 Unzen Silbermünze mit dem sogenannten Polarfuchs als Hauptmotiv. Neben dem ansprechenden Motiv besticht die Münze vor allem durch die ungewöhnliche Einheit von 1,5 Unzen. Der Polarfuchs hat seinen Lebensraum in der nördlichen Polarregionen.
Unter dem Motiv befindet sich die Umschrift „FINE SILVER 1 1/2 oz“, der Feingehalt der Silbermünze ist mit 999,9 Feinsilber enorm hoch. Als Auflage wurden 500.000 Münzen angesetzt. Abgepackt wird die Münze je in 15er Münztuben (lila Deckel). Der Nennwert beträgt 8 CAD (kanadische Dollar), das Gewicht liegt bei etwa 47,7 Gramm.
